Cultural Festival Stars!

Our kapahaka group performed at the Christchurch Schools Cultural Festival on Thursday the 4th of September. The performance was enjoyed by all! Our children performed with pride and passion!  We are so proud of our tamariki!

Where: Rolleston Community Centre, 94 Rolleston Drive, Rolleston, Selwyn

Restrictions: All Ages

Pack a picnic and dress up your favourite teddy!

The Teddy Bears’ Picnic will be jam-packed with family fun, including the famous teddy bear parade, face painting, faeries from Beyond the Faerie Tree, bouncy castles, toddlers’ gym and more. Win cool prizes with your teddy!

Happy New Year! Information and Reminders

Open Afternoon: Monday 29th of January - 1-3pm - come along and meet new friends, purchase uniform items, meet our teachers. This a time for new families to enrol their children. However, I ask that if you are new to Burnham School and we don't yet know that your child is joining us, I ask that you complete the online expression of interest form - see the link from our school website. https://www.myschool.co.nz/burnham
Once you have completed this I will send you an email and/or give you a call.

First Day Back
Wednesday 31st of January 2018. We will begin with a Mihi whakatau at 9.15am to welcome all our new families. This will be followed by a welcome morning tea. Everyone is welcome to come along. If you are new to Burnham you are strongly encouraged to attend. This is a great way to help settle your child into their new school and for you and your whanau meet new friends.

Stationery: Stationery Lists are available from https://www.myschool.co.nz/burnham
You will need to know what class your child is in. If your child is five and starting school they will be in Marie Smith's class.

Classes: At the end of last year you should have received an envelope letter containing your child's 2018 class placement and a stationery list (these are now available at https://www.myschool.co.nz/burnham

It is with great sadness that I share this post with you.
Barney (TK) Te Kani, Tama and Zek's papa (dad) has passed away. Our thoughts and love are with Kezia, Tama and Zek at this time.
As a school community, we will support the family as much as we possibly can. The wider Burnham community has shown their love and compassion in supporting Kezia and the boys since Barney's passing, once Tama returns to school we will do the same.
