Welcome to Burnham Primary School, Te Kura o Tiori. Our school is situated in the Selwyn District approximately 6 kilometres south of Rolleston in an open and pleasant environment surrounded by mature trees. Everyone is welcome – we do not have a zone!
We have eight classrooms, a hall, a Learning Support area and well-stocked Library. All classrooms are accessible to the physically disabled. The school is very well-resourced with equipment appropriate to modern teaching requirements.
Our school is full primary, catering for children from Year 1 to Year 8. We have a talented and experienced teaching team who provide students with the best possible education to meet the needs of an ever changing world. There exists a very caring, co-operative working atmosphere throughout the school and children are encouraged to strive for excellence in all that they undertake.
Our School Charter and Policies are available online and at the school office. Please feel free to view these at any time. Please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can arrange a time for you to visit and look around. If you want to enrol your child(ren) please check out our enrolment page.
Our school is well equipped with computers, laptops and iPads. The children use these resources to enhance their learning and to share their learning with friends and family. Every child in the school has their own learning portfolio and our Year 3-8 students have their own eportfolio, which we call ‘Burnham Ako’.
Parents are encouraged to join us for many school activities. Your interest and involvement will make the time that your child spends at Burnham School both happy and profitable. Our Mission Statement is “Our School is a place for partnership in learning.” We believe children learn best when there is mutual trust, co-operation, and understanding between parents, teachers, and pupils.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our community.
